Welcome to
the St Nicholas at Wade One-Place Study

St Nicholas at Wade is situated on the south-western corner of the Isle of Thanet in Kent. Its name derives from when Thanet was separated from mainland Kent and it was possible to wade across the channel. The most prominent landmark is the 13th century parish church of St Nicholas. The parish now encompasses nearby Shuart and Sarre.

The St Nicholas at Wade one-place study commenced in 2013 with research into the Victorian census records and that is continuing to expand into earlier documents.
